Darwin is the Technology Manager for Trout Lake Farm and Nutrilite Global Agribusiness Operations. There was a need in Wuxi, China, for him to share and implement his expertise to bring the soil back to life. Could he go?

Research Across the Globe: Wuxi & Beyond

In my last post, China and the Sea of Circles, I talked about my whirlwind trip to China, visiting Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou for speaking engagements and taking in all the progressive changes that are moving the country toward a more sustainable future. I also had a chance to return to the Amway Botanical Research Center (ABRC) in Wuxi to learn about the latest research updates, including one that had me thinking about my early days as a young scientist. A Friendly Welcome on Raiatea

I wrote about the wonderful time Francesca and I had on Tahaa in my last post. Our next stop was Raiatea, a sister island to Tahaa. Both islands are enclosed by a single coral reef and, at one time, may have been one island. When we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms by Frendoo, the daughter of one my father’s friends, and her husband Roland. The last time I saw Frendoo she was 14 years old. On this visit, she was celebrating her 61st birthday, and Francesca and I were excited to be able to join in the celebration. Continue reading A Friendly Welcome on Raiatea
