On July 16, 2016, we set sail under the Golden Gate Bridge, marking the official beginning of our journey aboard the Double X. We named the boat Double X in honor of the flagship product in the Nutrilite™ brand. You can read about the colorful past of this majestic 78-foot sloop here.

We set a course for the South Pacific, planning to return to many of the locations that I visited during the Firebird journey some 40 years earlier. Our mission was to see firsthand what changes have occurred over the decades. I was also eager to see what people today are doing to make sustainable living a priority to protect our planet and its limited resources.

As many of you know, I blogged along the way, sharing favorite photos, videos and the journey map. Yet, despite (or perhaps because of) the many challenges we faced and the need to return home sooner than expected, the experience has had a profound effect on me. I believe that helping those around us taking action to achieve optimal health and live more sustainably is more important than ever.
